Some movies are not available at your local store – they must be legally downloaded from a reputable online source. In this post, we're going to tell you how easy it is to download a movie using BitTorrent, and how to do it legally! The first step is to find the torrent file that contains the movie you’re looking for. You can usually do this by searching through one of the many torrent websites out there. A good resource for these files is www.thepiratebay.org or www.filestube.com . Once you find the desired movie, just right-click on the link and select "Copy Shortcut. ” Now there are two different methods of downloading torrents. You can use BitTorrent or uTorrent. We’ll be using uTorrent since it’s very easy to use and has all the features you need to download your content. Once you have downloaded and installed uTorrent, open the software and click the “Add Torrent” button in the upper right corner of the program window. On this screen, you will see three boxes; in each box, enter a different piece of information about the file that you are downloading. The three pieces of information are: • BitTorrent (Torrent) name – This is the name you will use when you distribute this file to other people. It’s important that the name isn't copyrighted – if it already is, then you should find another name that isn’t. For example, we made a torrent called “Titanic (1997)” and we wanted to distribute it, so we made a new name like "Titanic 1997" or “Titanic.avi” • Peer ID – This is the ID number assigned to your computer by BitTorrent when it downloads your file. You can obtain this number by going to www.btcentral. org . The site will show you your IP address, and the number assigned to you will be in the same format as 839.1.1.3. • Piece length – This is the number of MB in a single piece of the file. Most torrents have a content size between 700mb and 10mb. If it’s too small, then your computer would have a hard time downloading it in a reasonable amount of time. Once you have filled out all three boxes, click the "Add Torrent" button. You will be brought to a new screen which will show you the information about your torrent, including your BitTorrent (Torrent) name, your number of pieces, file size, etc. If all of these are correct press “Start download” to start downloading the torrent. You will now see a folder on your desktop that contains the torrent files for this movie or music that you are downloading.
